Contributor Programme · applications open

You build TurboLLM.
We cover the Claude.

200+

machines run TurboLLM every day.

That might not sound extraordinary, but this is an open-source project with zero marketing budget. Every install came from word of mouth. And every issue raised, PR opened, review left and feature requested has shaped what TurboLLM is today. Contributors are the ones building it. This programme is how we give something back.

What we offer

Three things, and the first one is the reason you are reading this.

$0 to you

A Claude membership, fully covered

Three contributors get Claude Max (5x) and five get Claude Pro. Both include Claude Code, so you can work on TurboLLM's codebase with an agent without watching a credit meter.

Seats in the first cohort

Every application is reviewed by hand. Everyone hears back.

Well-scoped issues, ready to pick up

No archaeology. Issues come with the context you need to start: what's wrong, where it lives, and what done looks like.

Clear development plans

You'll know where the project is heading, so what you build lands where it's needed instead of in a PR that sits.

Who this is for

AI enthusiasts who want to shape their favourite LLM app

If you have ideas for where TurboLLM should go next, this is your chance to build them. You don't need a long TurboLLM history. Strong work on other LLM projects counts too.

What we expect

Build the parts of TurboLLM you care about most

New features or bug fixes, in the areas you know and love: engines, the chat UI, Code, mobile, integrations. You pick the area; we help you scope it.

How it works

  1. 1

    Apply

Tell us who you are on GitHub, what you know about LLMs and what you'd like to build.

  2. 2

    We review by hand

We look at your past work, in TurboLLM or elsewhere, and how your plans fit the roadmap.

  3. 3

    Get your seat

Selected contributors are offered a Max or Pro seat, paid for by the project.

  4. 4

    Build

Pick up a scoped issue or your own idea, open PRs, and help steer TurboLLM.

Please note: this is not a job

It isn't full time or part time employment. It's volunteer open-source contribution, and no money is involved at any stage. The Claude membership is a tool to support your work on TurboLLM, not a form of payment.

Questions

What's the difference between the Max and Pro seats?

Both are Claude subscriptions that include Claude Code. Max (5x) gives much higher usage limits than Pro, which suits someone doing sustained, agent-heavy work on the codebase. We'll match seats to the work you plan to do.

Do I need to have contributed to TurboLLM already?

No, though it helps. Past TurboLLM PRs and issues are the strongest signal, but solid contributions to other LLM projects (inference engines, model tooling, agents, UIs) count too. The form asks about both.

Will I be paid?

No. No money is involved at any stage. The membership is a tool for working on TurboLLM, not payment, and this is not employment.

Is this run by Anthropic?

No. TurboLLM is an independent open-source project and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic. Claude, Claude Max, Claude Pro and Claude Code are Anthropic products; the memberships are bought by the TurboLLM project.
